How to Create a Business Card

  1. 1Enter your name, title, company, email, phone, and website in the form fields.
  2. 2Add an optional tagline to personalize the card with a brief statement.
  3. 3Choose background, text, and accent colors using the color pickers or hex inputs.
  4. 4Click Download PNG to save the high-resolution business card to your device.

Digital vs Printed Business Cards

Digital business cards (shared as images or links) are increasingly common for networking at events where phone sharing is easier than carrying physical cards. Printed cards remain important for formal business settings and leave-behinds after meetings. This tool generates a standard 3.5"×2" format — the universal business card size — suitable for both digital sharing and as a design reference for print orders.

Business Card Design Tips

Less Is More

Include only the contact method recipients are most likely to use. Too many contact options create visual clutter. Email and phone cover most professional needs.

Color and Brand

Use your brand colors for the accent bar and primary elements. A consistent color scheme across business cards, email signatures, and website creates a professional identity.

Dark Backgrounds

Dark background cards (navy, charcoal, black) stand out in a pile of white cards and photograph well. Pair with white text and a bright accent color.

Tagline Use

A tagline works best when it communicates your value proposition in 5–8 words. "Designing experiences that matter" is better than "Creative Director at Acme Corp" (which duplicates other fields).

Frequently Asked Questions

What format is the download?

The card downloads as a PNG image at 3x resolution (1008×576 pixels for a standard 3.5"×2" card at 96 DPI). This provides enough resolution for digital sharing and basic print use, though professional print shops recommend 300 DPI for sharp print quality.

Can I use this for printing?

The downloaded PNG is suitable for digital sharing and low-volume personal printing. For professional printing, you would need a 300 DPI file. Most online print services (Moo, VistaPrint) accept PNG uploads — check their resolution requirements before ordering.

Can I add a logo?

The current template is text-based and does not support image uploads. For a logo, you would need to open the downloaded PNG in an image editor (Photoshop, GIMP, Canva) and add the logo separately.

Is there a QR code option?

The current template does not include a QR code. To add one, download your business card PNG and use an image editor to overlay a QR code generated from our QR Code Generator tool.

Is my data stored?

No. All card generation happens in your browser. Your name, contact details, and design choices never leave your device.
