1. Acceptance
By accessing publicsofttools.com or using the PublicSoftTools API, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Description of Service
PublicSoftTools provides free, browser-based utility tools and a developer REST API. The browser tools run entirely client-side — no files are uploaded to our servers. The API processes requests server-side and returns JSON responses.
3. API Usage
API access is provided subject to the plan limits selected at registration. You must not:
- Share, sell, or redistribute your API key
- Use the API to build a product that directly competes with or resells our API
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits or quotas
- Use the API for any unlawful purpose
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate API access for violations without notice.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use PublicSoftTools to:
- Process or transmit illegal, harmful, or offensive content
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems
- Scrape, crawl, or data-mine the site in a manner that degrades performance for others
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
5. Intellectual Property
All content, code, and branding on PublicSoftTools is owned by or licensed to us. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission, except where output is explicitly provided for your own use (e.g. a generated QR code).
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
PublicSoftTools is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uptime, accuracy of results, or fitness for any particular purpose. Use the service at your own risk.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PublicSoftTools shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
8. Changes to Service
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We will endeavour to provide reasonable notice for material changes to the API, but are not obligated to do so.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved in the jurisdiction where PublicSoftTools operates.
