PublicSoftTools

About PublicSoftTools

We build free, browser-based software tools that respect your privacy, require no account, and work on any device — so that everyone has access to professional-grade utilities without cost or friction.

Why We Built This

Most useful software tools are locked behind paywalls, app downloads, account registrations, or invasive data collection. A freelance designer who needs to compress an image should not have to sign up for a subscription. A student who wants to decode a JWT token should not need to install a desktop application. A small business owner who wants to convert a PDF to Word should not have to upload sensitive documents to an unknown server.

PublicSoftTools was built to solve exactly this problem. We started with a small collection of tools for our own daily use — a JSON formatter, a text converter, a QR code generator — and grew the platform as the needs grew. Today, PublicSoftTools offers more than 228 free tools across PDF editing, image processing, developer utilities, calculators, file conversion, AI-powered features, and more.

The guiding principle has never changed: the tools should work instantly in your browser, process your data locally wherever possible, require no account or signup, and be free for core use. Every decision we make about the platform is measured against these standards.

What We Offer

PublicSoftTools is organized into nine major categories, each containing multiple specialized tools:

Who Uses PublicSoftTools

Our users come from every background and profession. Based on the categories people engage with most, the primary audiences are:

Privacy by Design

Privacy is not a feature we added after the fact — it is the core architectural decision that shapes every tool we build. The vast majority of our tools process all data entirely within your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. This means:

A small number of tools that require heavy server-side processing — such as PDF to Word conversion, PDF compression, and some AI features — send your file to our secure servers. When this happens, we display a clear notice. Files are processed over an encrypted HTTPS connection and deleted from our servers immediately after processing. We do not store, analyze, or share any file you submit for processing.

We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns (which tool categories are popular, which countries our visitors come from, etc.) and Google AdSense to display advertisements that fund the platform. These services use cookies. You can opt out of personalised advertising through Google's ad settings. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Our Quality Standards

Every tool on PublicSoftTools is built and tested before launch. Our standards for publishing a tool:

The Blog

The PublicSoftTools blog publishes in-depth guides, technical tutorials, and analysis across the areas our tools serve: cryptocurrency analysis and tokenomics, developer workflows, productivity, SEO, AI tools, and software tool comparisons. Articles are researched thoroughly and written to provide genuine educational value — not thin keyword-stuffed content.

Blog articles are authored by the PublicSoftTools editorial team. Where we cover technical topics (crypto indicators, developer tools, AI models), we cross-reference primary sources including official documentation, academic research, and authoritative industry resources. We do not publish AI-generated articles without expert review.

Free Forever — With Optional Advanced Features

The core PublicSoftTools experience is free and will remain free. We believe that access to high-quality software tools should not be contingent on paying a subscription. We fund the platform through non-intrusive advertising via Google AdSense.

For businesses, developers, and power users who need API access to our tools, bulk processing capabilities, or higher rate limits, we are building a paid API tier. This allows teams to integrate PublicSoftTools capabilities into their own workflows and products. If you are interested, see our pricing page for details.
